The Court of King’s Bench for Saskatchewan currently has two vacancies, including the Associate Chief Justice Position. Various CBASK members have expressed the view that the consistent delays in filling judicial vacancies tangibly impact the timelines within which matters can proceed through the Court system, and the confidence of the Public in the justice system.
The CBASK has responded to the feedback of its members, and has delivered the within letter to the Honourable Arif Virani, P.C., Minister of Justice and Attorney General. This letter expresses the concerns of CBASK members about the lengthy delays in filling judicial vacancies in Saskatchewan, and throughout other provinces. We will update CBASK members when a reply is received.
