Description

Associate Lawyer – Opportunity to Build a Practice

A well‑established law firm with offices in Saskatoon and Assiniboia, Saskatchewan is seeking an associate lawyer interested in developing a long‑term practice serving a vibrant rural community.

This position offers a rare opportunity for a lawyer to quickly develop a broad practice while working with an established client base and receiving mentorship and support from our Saskatoon office.

Our Firm

Our Assiniboia office includes one lawyer and two paralegals and our Saskatoon office includes five lawyers and six paralegals who collaborate closely across practice areas. Through integrated technology and shared systems, our lawyers work seamlessly between offices and provide support to one another regardless of location.

Our Assiniboia office serves a large surrounding agricultural region and maintains a well‑established client base.

Practice Areas

The practice includes a broad range of work typical of a full‑service regional firm, including:

• Real estate and property transactions
• Wills and estates
• Corporate and small business matters
• Family law
• Civil litigation

The Opportunity

This role offers significantly more responsibility and client interaction than most early‑career associate positions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take carriage of files early, develop strong client relationships, and grow their own practice within the firm.

The current Assiniboia lawyer is gradually transitioning toward retirement over the next several years, creating an excellent opportunity for a motivated lawyer to establish themselves in the community and build a long‑term practice.

What We Offer

• Immediate exposure to a broad range of files
• Established client base with consistent incoming work
• Strong mentorship and collaboration from the Saskatoon office
• Significant paralegal and administrative support
• Flexible work arrangements supported by integrated technology
• Opportunity to develop a long‑term practice with partnership potential

Compensation

Compensation is based on a percentage of fees collected.

Relocation support and housing assistance may be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Saskatchewan, or eligible for admission
• Strong organizational and client relationship skills
• Interest in developing a broad community‑based practice
• Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to build a long‑term practice

New calls and lawyers with several years of experience are both encouraged to apply.
