The Canadian Bar Association, Saskatchewan Branch, is deeply saddened by the passing of Beth Bilson KC, former editor of the Canadian Bar Review.
A longtime member of the SK Branch and regular contributor to BarNotes, Ms. Bilson served as CBR editor from 2006 to 2016 and received the Louis St-Laurent Award for her service to the profession. She also won several other CBA awards at the National and Branch level, including the Saskatchewan Distinguished Service Award in 2011.
Devoted to advancing the rights of women in the legal profession and in academic life, she was the first woman to be named Dean of Law at the University of Saskatchewan in 1999. As a law professor, she was also known to be a dedicated mentor to many students.
We offer our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues.
