CBA-SK is pleased to announce that Evan Olson will be joining our Board of Directors on September 1, 2025 as the Treasurer and will ultimately advance to the position of President in 2027-2028. Evan was acclaimed.

Evan Olson is a Regina based in-house lawyer with Viterra, a leading global agribusiness with more than 16,000 employees in 39 countries. In his practice, Evan’s current duties are split between commercial legal services, mergers & acquisitions and oversight of Viterra’s Canadian compliance program. Prior to his move in-house in 2011, Evan practiced with Miller Thomson LLP in their Regina office and with the Federal Department of Justice in Saskatoon. In addition to his professional experience, Evan holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Juris Doctor both from the University of Saskatchewan and has completed executive education programs at both Rotman School of Management and Harvard Law School. In 2017, Evan attained the Certified In-House Counsel – Canada (CIC.C) designation.

In addition to work at the CBA Saskatchewan Branch level within multiple sections and serving as a Member of CBA-SK Branch Council for 2023-2025, Evan has made significant long-term contributions to advancing the interests of lawyers in Saskatchewan and across Canada within the CBA, including serving on:
• CBA National Board, current Director;
• Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA), National Board Member, 2017 to present, including serving as CCCA President during 2022-2023; and
• CBA National Young Lawyers Executive 2010-2011.

In his upcoming role as CBA-SK Treasurer for 2025-2026 and in subsequent years on the CBA-SK Board of Directors, Evan wants to reinforce the current priorities of the CBA-SK Branch with a special emphasis on the following issues impacting our legal community:
• Navigating the challenges and opportunities with the modernization of the legal profession; and
• Promoting mental health and wellness amongst our members to support a healthy and sustainable practice of law.

Evan is the proud father of two busy kids and, along with his wife Audrey, spends most his free time engaged in their extracurricular activities. Evan particularly enjoys volunteering as a youth sports coach. Evan grew up in Saskatoon and now proudly calls Regina home.
